Work together with other players to beat the AI at chess! You control the white pieces collectively through voting.
🗳️ Casting Votes
Drag a piece to its destination square to vote for that move. Red arrows on the board show what moves everyone is voting for—thicker arrows mean more votes.
⏱️ Timer & Skip
Every 60 seconds, the move with the most votes is played automatically. If a majority of voters click Skip, the timer ends early.
📊 Voting Methods
The game rotates between three voting systems:
First Past the Post (FPTP)
You can only vote for one move. Dragging a new move replaces your previous vote. Simple majority wins.
Approval Voting
Vote for as many moves as you like. Each move you drag gets added to your approved list. Click the × next to a move to remove it. The move with the most total approvals wins.
Instant Runoff (IRV)
Rank moves in order of preference. New moves are added as your #1 choice. Use the ⋮⋮ handle to drag and reorder your rankings, or click × to remove. If no move has majority support, the least popular is eliminated and those votes transfer to each voter's next choice until a winner emerges.
🏳️ Surrender
Click "Vote to Surrender" if you think the game is lost. If surrender gets the most votes, the game ends.
🤖 Adaptive Difficulty
The AI adjusts its strength for each voting method separately. Win and the bot gets harder; lose and it gets easier. Which voting method will reach the highest level?
